WHY YOUTH ENGAGEMENT IN INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS MATTERS
The effects and consequences of global international relations have never had a greater impact on our lives than they do today. As our world becomes vastly more interconnected, the importance of empowering Australia’s emerging leaders to be better informed, experienced and enriched in international affairs is more critical than ever. YAIA is committed to ensuring Australia’s youth is better prepared to engage in global affairs and navigate Australia's future in the Indo-Pacific century through:
DIVERSIFY ENGAGEMENT PATHWAYS
To successfully connect with our core audience, YAIA must offer a variety of engagement pathways that reflect the diverse backgrounds of the people we aim to reach. By expanding our delivery methods, we ensure our initiatives are accessible and relevant to a youth audience from varied demographics, ensuring that we offer equitable opportunities for young Australians to engage in this sector.
EMBED YAIA'S INTRINSIC SOCIETAL VALUE
YAIA will actively influence international affairs and create tangible value through our programs. To fulfil our vision and mission, every initiative should focus on driving meaningful change and measurable progress.
YAIA serves a unique and intentional role within the Australian global affairs sector, standing out as an independent and innovative youth-led organisation. Our mission is to foster collaborative, alternative, and progressive dialogue in international affairs. Our strategic value lies in its commitment to fostering innovative ideas, inclusivity, and leadership, equipping youth with the skills and networks needed to tackle the 21st-century challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
