BEC STRATING

Bec Strating PhD FAIIA is the Director of La Trobe Asia and a Professor of International Relations at La Trobe University, Melbourne. She brings to the Young Australians in International Affairs extensive experience working in the academia-policy-public engagement nexus in the fields of international diplomacy and security.

 

Bec leads or has led over 20 externally funded research collaborations and currently leads the DFAT-funded “Blue Security” network focused on maritime security issues in the Indo-Pacific.

 

She is particularly interested in ensuring that young Australians from diverse backgrounds are provided opportunities to contribute to international affairs and to public conversations about vital issues of national security and prosperity.
